Kyushu is the third largest island of Japan (after the two islands are Honshu and Hokkaido). Kyushu (九州, Kyūshū, literally "nine provinces") is located southwest of the main island Honshu. An early center of Japanese civilization, this place offers many historic treasures, modern cities and natural beauty.

Kyushu island has 7 provinces: Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki and Kagoshima.
